A Gift to Future Generations
On June 15, 1808, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton arrived in Baltimore and, on the next day, she traveled to what is now St. Mary's Spiritual Center & Historic Site on Paca Street. Upon her arrival there, she witnessed the dedication of the Chapel of the Presentation of Mary in the Temple.
In June of 2008 the Catholic Church in Baltimore will celebrate the Bicentennial of these historic events.
In preparation, St. Mary's Spiritual Center & Historic Site has launched a capital campaign to preserve its historic buildings and to enhance the services offered to tourists, pilgrims and participants in its programs. The Campaign is entitled, "Rekindle the Spirit."
