The Admissions Process
I enjoy working with a community of like-minded
priests its a gift to me. Rev.
Albert Giaquinto, SS
The Sulpicians offer a context where a diocesan priest can do
academic work and spiritual formation. Because of this specialization,
those who seek to join us are either priests in good standing who
are incardinated into dioceses in the United States or in Zambia,
or they are seminarians currently sponsored by American or Zambian
dioceses.
Discernment and application
There are three phases to this initial stage of exploring
whether the Sulpician mission is the right step for your ministry
as a priest:
 |
 |
During the Informal
Discernment stage, you begin to learn more about the Society.
This usually includes a visit to our Provincial House and to
Sulpician
programs in the Baltimore-Washington area. |
 |
 |
 |
Formal Discernment
begins when you have decided you would like to apply to join
the Society. You obtain written permission from your diocesan
bishop to begin the application process. |
 |
 |
 |
Application requires
submitting the application materials and meeting with the Provinces
Admissions Committee. That committee reviews the materials
and, based on them and their meeting with you, makes a recommendation
to the Provincial Council regarding your application. |
